Located approximately 220 kilometres east of Melbourne, Maffra is major service centre for the thriving dairy farming, agriculture, pastoral, horticultural and irrigation district. Maffra is a detour off the Princes Highway and is close to the towns of Sale, Stratford and Tinamba.

Short-term parking is offered to those visiting the area in self-contained vehicles. At nil cost, parking is available for up to 48 hours at Maffra RV Park. Both the dump point and potable water are also located at the park and pets on leads are also permitted.
