The West Coast Rally is in full swing in Dumbleyung, WA (located approximately 280 kms south-east of Perth). The town has been very welcoming, with several local businesses and community members supporting the event. Traditionally, this event was known as the WA Combined Chapter Rally. Over the years, numbers started to dwindle and chapters volunteering to run the event also started declining. This year, two members stepped forward to run the event, and the name was changed to the West Coast Rally. I am pleased to announced that we have 110 vehicles attending this event (200 members), in which 13% are attending in caravans, 40% are first timers and, more importantly, 50% of attendees are non-chapter members. It doesn’t take long to realise that this was a positive move for this event.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Bevin Martin and Margaret Cook, as well as their committed volunteers, for putting an excellent event together. During the course of the event, discussions will take place regarding a destination for next year’s event.
