CEO Weekly Message

It is with great disappointment that I must advise that this year’s Dam Fine Rally has been cancelled. Rally organisers have been advised that the upcoming excavation work taking place at Ross Park will not be completed in time for the event. Various alternate venues have been inspected; however, none were suitable for an event of this nature. We understand the disappointment many will share, but hopefully next year’s event will be back bigger and better than ever. This rally is popular for our members travelling north, along with the Far North Nomads’ Christmas in July, and it will be missed!

Speaking of Christmas in July, I have been advised that this year’s event will be the Silver Jubilee – 25th year. What a significant milestone. It will be held from 27 - 30 July 2023 at the Mareeba Rugby Leagues Club grounds. Further information will be available shortly.

At the moment, we have around 150 vehicles at Campbell Town enjoying the wonderful Tasmanian State Rally. Chairman Kim Templeton presented to members on Thursday afternoon, giving those attending an update on all things CMCA.

One last thing to note; if you are currently in and around Melbourne, we are attending the Victorian Caravan & Camping Show at the Melbourne Showgrounds until Sunday afternoon. We have had terrific enquiry, and I must extend a big thank you to the volunteers who have supported staff member Emily at this event.

Safe travelling

Richard
