CEO Weekly Message

It is with a touch of sadness, that I advise members that our long-time office manager, Colin Thompson, will be leaving us after 16 and half years’ service to CMCA and its members. Colin started back in 2004 where he managed the member services department before moving on to become office manager - a role he made his own. As a part of Colin’s role, he facilitated the chapters and SIGs, and many members would have come across his name and persona when answering queries or forwarding information. He was very popular with the chapters, and I know many members will miss his voice at the other end of the phone. Colin joined CMCA as a member in 1997, and he, and his wife Rhonda, along with Gary and Ronda Rebgetz at the time, started the Mackay Sugarloafers. He then commenced his trip around Australia. He still maintains his membership number 9123 as an associate member. When 2004 came along, the general manager at the time, John Osborne, after seeing Colin’s resume, realised that having an actual motorhomer employed would be a great benefit to the staff, as well as the other qualities he brought to the table. Now here we are, over 16 and a half years later, wishing him every success in his retirement. On behalf of the members, directors and staff, may I take this opportunity to thank Colin for his valuable service and contribution to the Club and his colleagues over an extended period, and we wish you and your wife Rhonda a happy retirement. Stay well and travel safe my friend.

Richard
