New RV Friendly Town

Our latest RV Friendly Town is Cobden, VIC!

Cobden is a small town of approximately 1,800 people conveniently located between the Great Ocean Road and the Volcanic Lakes and Plains tourism regions. Cobden is a well-laid out town with wide streets and a central shopping strip. The town, which was first settled by Europeans in the 1840s, has all the facilities required for travellers looking to stock up on supplies.

RV travellers will find short-term parking available at Cobden Free Camp on Bond Street. Parking is available up to 72 hours at no cost and is only available to those who are travelling in self-contained vehicles. The town’s dump point is available for use at the rear of the BP Roadhouse, with potable water accessible at Apex Park on Shenfield Street.

Cobden’s stunning lake precinct has a golf course, bowling club and recreation reserves for sports. It’s not too far from popular fishing lakes (Purrumbete and Elingamite), if you’re keen to try and catch a fish or two. There’s plenty to keep visitors occupied since the former site of Cobden Racecourse was redeveloped and now houses a recreation precinct that consists of the Miniature Railway, Pioneer Park, Aerodrome, Restoration Group, G-Kart Track and Mini Golf Course.
