This week, I would like to highlight one of our staff members, Lillie Sinclair, whom many of you may have spoken to her over the phone or by email or even met her at one of our national rallies. Lillie, along with three of her family members, will attempt to run 14 kilometres in this year’s Sydney City2Surf on Sunday 14 August. While you may feel that the effort to run could be easily achieved, the reason I am highlighting it is because she is doing it for a fantastic cause.
Lillie is determined to run every step of the way to raise money for the Robert Connor Dawes (RCD) Foundation, which supports paediatric brain cancer in children. RCD has been chosen in support of a little three-year old girl Zoe. Lillie, her sisters Nicquie and Heidi, as well as mum Ange have taken upon themselves to support this little girl and her single mother. Brain cancer is one of the most fatal of all childhood cancers, with current clinical treatments only helping 50% of children but leaving 90% with lifelong and mental impairments. This is devastating to come to terms with and why they are on a mission to change the odds.
I appreciate there are many great causes that we and the Club support; however, I would like to recognise the efforts of our staff member who is active in raising funds for this cause. Any support for Lillie’s quest to raise funds would be very much appreciated. This can be done HERE.
On behalf of all the members and staff, we are proud of you and your team Lillie. Congratulations!
