CEO Weekly Message

In this stage of the on-going crisis, please be assured we are trying to do as much as possible to support our members - especially those on the road full-time (with no fixed residential address). Last week, we wrote to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, State Ministers and agencies seeking a clear direction for full-time travellers. Our team at NHQ have been working tirelessly to contact as many accommodation providers as possible, to develop a list of caravan parks who remain open to full-time travellers. Members can access this information at  https://members.cmca.net.au/content/stay. These parks are closed to non-essential travellers and only catering for permanent on-site residents and travellers with no fixed address. There are also terms and conditions surrounding stays at these parks including self-containment, minimum and maximum length of stays, signed declarations upon entering the park and permission to travel documents. If you are touring around the country and you can make your way home, the Government is firmly advising that you must make an effort to return home as soon as possible; non-essential travel is not permitted. The NSW Government advised yesterday that this will be the ‘norm’ until late June; everyone must remain calm and realise that COVID-19 is a global pandemic and must not be taken lightly.

Our responses to the ever changing Government advice and restrictions aim to protect the health and well-being of our members and to ensure we do our part to combat this devastating virus. If you have missed our bi-weekly statement regarding the effects of COVID-19, you can view them on our website and across our social media platforms.

Stay safe,

Richard
