Information for Christmas in July, Mareeba, Qld.

Important Information for members Attending Christmas in July at Mareeba, Qld.

I would like to advise that Queensland Health has reported a positive Covid-19 case in the Mareeba township; however, the infected person and her immediate family have not been in the community and are currently isolating in their home. This fully vaccinated person travelled from Melbourne through to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast in the last week and wore a mask throughout the entire period. CMCA and the organisers of the rally are working closely with Queensland Health and Council to ensure the best interests of the community and CMCA members are at the forefront.

While masks are not mandatory in Mareeba, it is recommended you have one available to wear if required. Social distancing and hand sanitisation are essential. You will be required to check in using the Check In Qld app when entering the grounds (there are alternative methods available for checking in as well).

At this early stage, the current case has been identified by the Government and Council as a low risk for the event; however, we need to be vigilant. If you have flu or cold like symptoms, please isolate and get tested. We will continue to update members as much as possible and any government updates can be viewed on the Queensland Health website.
