Our latest RV Friendly Town is Burra, SA!
Located 2 hours from Adelaide, the historic town of Burra was made famous by Shepherd Thomas Picket discovering copper in 1845. By 1850, Burra had one of the largest copper mines and saved the state from bankruptcy. Burra is now listed as a National Heritage Town and today hosts many great attractions.
RV travellers visiting town will find an array of accommodating services and facilities. Short term parking is available at Burra Showgrounds from $15 unpowered. Guests can stay for up to 96 hours, and showers, toilets and water are available. Pets on leads are also welcome. For those wanting to stick around town longer, Burra Caravan Park can accommodate long term parking. The towns dump point and potable water are both accessible at Burra Caravan Park.
Visitors will be kept busy during a visit to Burra with the many great attractions it offers. A key to the town can be purchased and is a great way to explore its rich history. The key entitles guests to many heritage sites and museums through a self-guided tour. If you don’t mind a fine wine or two, a day trip to the well-known Clare Valley wine region might be what you’re after.
