New RV Friendly Town

Our latest RV Friendly Town is Croydon, Qld!

Croydon, situated in the heart of the Gulf Savannah country (Savannah Way) in Queensland, is a small town that started with the discovery of gold in 1885. Today, Croydon has a population of less than 300 and serves as a quiet yet captivating destination, rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty.

For those visiting Croydon, short-term parking of up to 48 hours can be found at Croydon Freedom Camp in Alldridge Street. A donation is required to stay, and this includes access to showers and toilets. Pets on a lead are permitted.  A dump point is located along Alldridge Street and potable water is accessible at various locations around town including on the corner of Alldridge and Samwell Streets.

With its warm climate, welcoming community, and a strong sense of history, Croydon is a testament to the enduring spirit of Queensland’s Outback. The town is a hidden gem for those seeking adventure or a connection to Australia’s pioneering heritage. Whether you are passing through or planning an extended stay, Croydon promises an enchanting experience for travellers journeying through the Queensland Outback.
