New RV Friendly Town

Northam is a charming regional town in Western Australia’s Avon Valley, around 90 minutes east of Perth. Nestled along the banks of the Avon River, it blends country tranquility with historic character - home to beautifully preserved heritage buildings, scenic walking trails, and one of Australia’s longest pedestrian suspension bridges.

RV travellers visiting Northam will find convenient facilities designed to make their stay comfortable and hassle-free. Short-term parking is available at Northam RV Park located at 55 Mitchell Avenue. This RV park offers a peaceful spot to stay for up to 48 hours free of charge. The site includes bins, potable water, and is pet-friendly (with pets to be kept on a lead). For waste disposal, dump points are available both at Northam RV Park and on Peel Terrace.

There’s plenty to see and do around Northam, making it a rewarding stop for travellers exploring Western Australia’s Avon Valley. Take in the town’s heritage charm with a stroll along Fitzgerald Street, where beautifully restored buildings tell stories of the region’s past, or cross the Avon River Suspension Bridge, one of the longest pedestrian bridges in Australia. Adventure seekers can experience breath-taking views from a hot-air balloon ride at sunrise, while nature lovers will enjoy spotting native birdlife along the Avon River Walk Trail.
