CEO Weekly Message

I would like to remind you all about the opening and closure status of CMCA RV Parks around the country.

The following parks have now closed for the summer season due to inclement weather and excessive heat:

Batchelor, NT: Closed 31 October 2024

Humpty Doo, NT: Closed 31 October 2024

Ingham, Qld: Closed 27 October 2024

Charleville, Qld: Closed 31 October 2024

Innisfail, Qld: Closed 29 October 2024

All other parks including those in Railton (Tas), Port Pirie and Penola (SA), Boyup Brook (WA), Bundaberg (Qld) and Temora, Gunnedah and Nyngan (NSW) are fully operational. Unfortunately, CMCA RV Park Geeveston (Tas) is still closed, and we are urgently seeking a custodian so we can reopen it as soon as possible. If you are interested and able to assist, please call Emily King on 02 4978 8788 or email emilyking@cmca.au as soon as possible.

Earlier in the week, the official opening of CMCA Nyngan Van Park, NSW took place. CMCA Chairman Nelson Crawshaw, CMCA Business Development Officer Sean Constable and Nyngan Van Park owner Bruce Maynard officiated the ceremony and unveiled the commemorative plaque. I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended, especially the current custodian Col Burgess.

We are quite excited with the possibility of new CMCA RV Parks opening next year; however, this depends on council approvals and construction requirements. The process of establishing new parks is quite slow - mainly to ensure compliance with various planning legislation in each state and territory. The recent Local Government Conferences have given us some strong leads, which we will be investigating. There have also been strong enquiries from councils looking for assistance with their caravan parks.

Safe travelling

Richard
