I can advise the membership that the appointed Returning Officer, Michelle Wilson, had received only one application for the vacant position on the CMCA Board of Directors at 12 noon today Friday 2 June as per Clause 33.1 (a). Michelle has advised that since there was one (1) nomination, the new CMCA Director elected will be Jo Tremain N47182 as per Clause 33.1 (c) (i). Jo will take office immediately at the completion of this year’s Annual General Meeting at Dalby, Qld on Monday 9 October as per Clause 33.1 (k). I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Jo on being successful. I am also aware that several members had considered nominating as they sought Director Nomination Packs; please be reminded that a position will come up again in 2024. 

After a tough week for many with the passing and funeral of Garry Lee, it was sad to learn of the unfortunate passing of Honorary Life Member Ed Taylor (N6292). Ed passed away last Sunday after a long illness. Ed and his wife Jan worked tirelessly for the Club, particularly in attending our consumer shows and rallies. In 2012, they were bestowed the honour of Life Membership, which was well deserved.

I would like to take this moment to positively reflect on our wonderful membership who show their true colours when tragedy or devastation strikes another. Whether we know them personally or not, it is the time that many take to reflect on the efforts of others that make our Club so great to be a part of.
