Our latest RV Friendly Town is Gordonvale, Qld!
Gordonvale is a tropical Queensland town, steeped in history, with a village atmosphere. Originally called Nelson, but later changed to Gordonvale in honour of a local pioneer (John Gordon), this small sugar milling town has unique character with several older buildings dating back to the 30's and 40's and its large central park.
RV travellers visiting town will find several accommodating RV facilities. Greenpatch Campground offers a comfortable parking option for up to 72 hours at no cost. Access to showers, toilets and waters is available, and pets on leads are permitted. A dump point is also located on-site for convenience.
A visit to Gordonvale is not complete without admiring its beautiful backdrop. The distinctive, triangle-shaped mountain, called Walsh’s Pyramid, cannot be missed. The iconic Great Pyramid Race has been held here annually for over 60 years and is an endurance race that takes place on the third Saturday in August.
