It has been an extremely busy and successful week of government representation, with Director Vince Calleja and I attending the WALGA Local Government Convention 2023. We had the pleasure of meeting with various Western Australian Shire Presidents, Mayors, CEOs, and Councillors who were keen to look at ways in which they could capture the RV market. The conference was well attended despite Local Government elections being held next month.

Whilst in Perth, we arranged meetings with senior policy advisors from key ministerial departments including tourism, regional development, road safety and local government. These four areas, along with the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage who we are following up with next week, are the key areas of government required to align with the needs of the sector. All department executives were receptive to what we are trying to achieve and will now look closer so we can develop new initiatives, such as CMCA RV Parks, in the state. The rvSafe program was also well received by all departments which is a positive

We also held an exciting meeting with the Mayor of the City of Bunbury and senior executives to discuss and inspect a possible CMCA RV Park site, as well as a potential future rally site. They were very welcoming, and Bunbury looks to be an inviting city to visit. While speaking of WA, the West Coast Rally will be going ahead in Wagin from 11-16 October 2023. It is not too late to register.
