Our latest RV Friendly Town is Wyandra, QLD!
Wyandra is a small must-see town located in outback Queensland. The township is situated in the Paroo Shire Council region and is approximately 110 kilometres north of Cunnamulla. Those with an interest in architecture will find some stunning heritage buildings throughout town, as well as a spectacular Heritage Trail showcasing old buildings from the boom period.
Parking is available at Mitchell Highway Rest Area, where self-contained vehicles are welcome to stay free of charge for up to 24 hours. This includes access to toilets and bins. Alternatively, self-contained parking is available at Wyandra Camping Ground for up to 48 hours. Payment is by way of donation, and includes access to showers, bins, toilets, water and barbecue facilities. A dump point is located at Cooper street, across from the caravan park.
There are plenty of activities in and surrounding Wyandra, making this town a perfect place to visit when touring outback Queensland. Travellers can visit a beach at nearby Cunnamulla, or for history buffs, a wonderful heritage display is available in town at the Powerhouse Museum.
